Is there a chance that paintball markers will be illegalized?

I was reading an article that was saying that because of people driving around shooting other people with their markers, there might be a chance of paintball markers becoming illegal to own. So do any of you know?

They won’t be illegalized, but they may be made illegal.

If it proves to be a hazard, pretty much anything can be and will be illegal.
At the least, there will be restrictions.
Example:Only have the CO2 tank and paintballs loaded if you are on a registered field.
There’s always some dumb as*es that ruins it for everyone.

No, they may place more strict regulations on them but even that may not pass. Law makers in various states (and countries, like Germany) have tried passing laws squashing paintball and they’ve all failed.

Maybe not on a federal or state level, but I live In CA and city ordinances are often stricter than state or federal law, even though we are a preemption state where local law can not supersede state law, go figure. So if your city has a problem with vandals or other criminals using paintball markers to commit crimes, then maybe.
